May has always been a month full of celebrations for me. There were 9 birthdays in my family in the month of May as I was growing up, myself included.

My childhood home sat on the banks of Huspah Creek in a tiny farm community called Lobeco, about 20 minutes from Beaufort, SC. Named for the train stop just up the the way that would pick up produce from Long and Bellamy Company.

And this is how it all began…
