May Celebrations

May has always been a month full of celebrations for me.  There were 9 birthdays in my family in the month of May as I was growing up, myself included.  My grandmother and grandfather both had birthdays along with their wedding anniversary.  I always thought it was so fun.  Every week we had a birthday to celebrate.  Spring festivals were always in May, end of the school year parties and then graduations, and of course Mother’s Day. 

The garden comes alive with full blooms.  Kids are excited.  Teachers are excited.  Parents too, I think.  It’s the start of summer.  Anticipation of summer plans.  Time with friends.  Days on the river.  Flip flops.

I love May.

Since my kids all share their birthdays around each other and my hubby, I basically announce to them that May 1 officially kicks off the month of Me.  I mean, I think that’s fair, don’t you? 

And seeing it’s the month of Me…I want to celebrate together!  And give gifts to YOU!
